Those same tensions were also responsible for legendary investor Warren Buffett to invest over $4 Billion into Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co ( TSM Stock ) only to sell it weeks later, starting a trend where Wall Street drops TSMC for semiconductor companies like ASML. This week the Biden administration announced another enhanced round of sanctions barring the export of even more GPUs to China and a number of countries the US sees as competitors or enemies in the AI arms race. The GPU's affected are the H800 and A800 (initially created as a response to sanctions earlier this year as slower versions of the A100 and H100) but most surprisingly the RTX 4090!
