This is a complete Google Sheets Query function tutorial. The QUERY functions is one of THE most powerful functions in Google Sheets when it comes to data analysis and data manipulation. But because it has all this flexibility it's not an easy function to master at first. In this video I'll teach you the basics and the set of rules you need to follow if you really want to understand the Query Function in Google Sheets. You'll learn how to use SELECT, WHERE, LIMIT, GROUP BY, FORMAT and other clauses to filter data. You'll also learn how to exclude null value cells or cells that are empty when using QUERY. Also how to include cells with a specific value. We'll sort data in ascending and descending order with Query. We'll also use aggregation functions in QUERY such as the sum function. Query letters can be daunting! Today I'm going to break the query down into three sections to create an easy template/format you can use to write your own query. I'm also going to demonstrate how this template plays out in successful query letters. SHOW NOTES It's easiest to think about the query in three sections. These sections should be roughly between 100 and 300 words in total. Most people combine files from a folder with Power Query all wrong. In this video I show you why it’s wrong and the way you should be doing it. When Power Query combines files in a folder it automatically creates a bunch of queries for you. There are two queries that are important, the sample file query and the final query. Most people use the wrong query to make their transformations and wonder why they’re struggling.
